Former Vikings receivers might not be able to find a work in the NFL but at least they are still being paid to play football. First, Bethel Johnson signed with Toronto of the CFL. Now, Kelly Campbell has joined the Edmonton Eskimos of the same league.
I’ll say this for Campbell: He’s going to bring some quality trash-talking to that league. Production might be another question. Campbell has had his legal issues but a story in the Edmonton Sun said those problems are behind him.
Campbell played with the Vikings from 2002-2004. He had 13 catches for 176 yards and three touchdowns in 2002, 25 catches for 522 yards and four touchdowns in 2003 and 19 catches for 364 yards and one touchdown in 2004.
Campbell will get right to work. The CFL’s preseason begins June 12 and the regular season starts June 26.
