Receiver Bethel Johnson’s one-year run with the Vikings was forgettable. Johnson signed with the Vikings in 2006 after being cut by New Orleans and had nine receptions for 156 yards and no touchdowns in 11 games. His primary contribution came on kickoff returns (45 returns for a 23.4 average). Last season, Johnson spent time on Philadelphia and Houston’s roster but did not play in any games.

Johnson, originally a draft pick of the New England Patriots, has found work again but this time it will be in Canada. Johnson has signed with the Toronto Argonauts, according to TSN out of Canada.

“I’m excited to get back on the field again and about the great opportunity I have ahead of me with the Argos,” Johnson said. “Training camp isn’t about playing around; you come into camp with the ultimate goal of winning a championship. I’m looking forward to getting on the field and winning again.”

Receiving a paycheck from a professional football franchise, no matter what the league, also is something Johnson is looking forward to seeing again.

Reminder: The Vikings will resume their organized team activities on Tuesday and there will be media access on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Make sure to check back for updates.
